Do we have a "spiritual need"?

John 13:33-35 says: 34 I am giving you a new commandment, that you love one another; just as I have loved you , that you also love one another. 35 By this all will know that you are my disciples, if you have love among yourselves.”

It is very hard to show genuine love when the Deity you worship and pattern yourself after is such a homicidal maniac and you have to take his side in the slaughter/out of control killing sprees to save your own skin from his moody rages.

“Go On Walking in Love”
1-3. What results when we imitate Jehovah’s example of showing love?
“THERE is more happiness in giving than there is in receiving.” (Acts 20:35) Those words of Jesus underscore this important truth: Unselfish love brings its own reward. Although there is much happiness in receiving love, there is even greater happiness in giving, orshowing, love to others.
2 No one knows this better than our heavenly Father does. As we saw in the preceding chapters of this section, Jehovah is the ultimate example of love. No one has shown love in greater ways or over a longer period of time than he has. Is it any wonder, then, that Jehovah is called “the happy God”?—1 Timothy 1:11.
3 Our loving God wants us to try to be like him, especially when it comes to showing love.Ephesians 5:1, 2 tells us: “Become imitators of God, as beloved children, and go on walking in love.” When we imitate Jehovah’s example of showing love, we experience the greater happiness that comes from giving. We also have the satisfaction of knowing that we are pleasing to Jehovah, for his Word urges us “to love one another.” (Romans 13:8) But there are yet other reasons why we should “go on walking in love.”....
5 On the final night of his earthly life, Jesus told his followers: “I am giving you a new commandment, that you love one another; just as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are my disciples, if you have love among yourselves.”

Yes Jehovah is the "Happy God" as long as he is obeyed without question. To question Him as to the rightness or wrongness of what he is doing brings out his evil authoritarian side and a possible end of life to those brave enough to question his love.

Also take notice that JC said it was a new commandment apparently such a commandment never was given by Jehovah in the torah. Jesus could never be Jehovah's first born son because he was so different than Jehovah in his approach to handling situations.

Who oversees the money for the WT?

when the wt sells property for a billion dollars profit, who decides what that money is going to be used for?.

when all the money comes in from all the kingdom halls bank accounts worldwide, did all that money go into one big account and who has authority to spend it and cut some checks to whoever?

when all the monthly donations come in to the watchtower headquarters, who decides distribution, and to who?

July 19th Watchtower Summary. Insanity

just got back from the wt study and it overall was just so blindingly biased and leading.. i had to read it from the platform too, i hope they couldn't see the confounded look on my face as i read this craziness out!.

first we consider the faith of abel, enoch, noah, abraham, isaac and jacob, and moses.. all of these people are held up as sterling examples of blind faith, with the article pointedly saying that their imaginations sustained their faith in gods promises for them.

no mention anywhere at all that all of these characters saw and talked to angels, spoke to god himself, saw and performed miracles, or any of the other feats experienced by these characters.

How much damage has internet done against the The Watchtower Society ?

in the beginning of internet the society was worried about the information published exposing its falsehood.

so, i wonder how many people lost the society on account of forums and web sites like this.

We can only guess about the damage done to the WT corporation by the internet because it is on going and will never go away. The Governing Body old fogies took a typical head in the sand approach to it perhaps hoping that armageddon will come or that it would just go away some how. They were very late when it came to using the internet because of their demonization of it.

They are a reactionary Cult and so don't have any real good plans to look at a situation and make appropriate moves to really take advantage of the internet all they can do is disfellowship those members who found out the truth about the truth to avoid a mass exodus how long will they be able to keep this up with any meager success time will tell. Also they may be forced to capitulate on this disfellowshipping form of information control in the future as the courts call them to accounts for some of their cruel behaivor be it through loss of Charity status which could force them financially to give up this not to mention all the lawsuits that have resulted from they way their in house Judicial system handles pedofiles and innocent victims.

I think the damage done is huge but hard to see the present results as many fear disfellowshipping and prefer to remain quite about what they are learning for obvious reasons. To me the problems the internet is causing the WT is like a snow ball rolling down a hill getting bigger and faster as time goes on.

I was informed that he mentioned there has been talk of cutbacks at Bethel. He said there were not cutbacks but because the productivity with faster equipment requiring less workers and also because much of the printing that was being done in other countries,

He should have mentioned that the magazines are way smaller and cheaper to make and all the books are paper back now which should almost cut in half the production of printed material. They are winding down in the warning work seems like this bunch of faithful and discreet slavers is slacking off in their precious God given assignment and are saying to themselves "My master is delaying" next they will start eating and drinking with the confirmed drunkards of false religion pretty soon.

I guess this piece of property had the Governing Body's name all over it and was just waiting all these year for someone dumb enough and desperate like them to buy it. I hope they enjoy their new home with all carcinogens just waiting to make friends with them.

I think that tours to see the place will be kind of spars once all the friends/JWs spread the word around that this was a contaminated site that was supposedly cleaned up just like the end of the world is coming real soon like any minute now. I wouldn't suggest that any pregnant or nursing mother take a visit seeing that PCB causes birth defects and what not.

I think Jehovah might get a little miffed seeing how his Faithful and not so discreet slave just blew a wad of dough due to lack of faithfulness with Jehovah's assets and indiscretion/undiscreetfulness when it come to buying property for him to park his Chariot.

A lot of companies when they lay off someone for what ever reason escort them to a meeting when they are given the news that they no longer have a job and then escort them to get their belongings so as not to have a negative impact on the other workers, in effect they get them to leave as quietly as possible. I think the WT corporation may not have been able to convict him of any wrong doing but may have herd some hear say about him that caused them to get rid of him fast without any notice(maybe just could have been a wrong comment to someone that ran to some bethel overseer to squeal on him) after all I think they are kind of spooked about any type of bad attitude developing among the rank and file slave labor so even hear say without due process of a kangaroo court may have been seen to be their best alternative.
